MUSIC FOR HEALING
We resonate, just as music does — harnessing the frequency and vibration of music to heal, connect, engage, and inspire. Music for Healing is Adryn’s lifelong belief in the transformative power of music put into practice — through performance, education, and human connection.
Sound is frequency and vibration — and so are humans. This simple premise has guided Adryn’s belief in the profound power of music throughout her life and became the foundation for her work in Music for Healing.
At Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Adryn created the piano division of the hospital’s Music for Healing program. She worked to secure the donation of a Yamaha grand piano, gave the gala opening performance, and then donated her time each week, performing for patients, physicians and surgeons, hospital staff, worried family members, and countless others who happened to encounter the music.
There was no traditional audience. People simply stopped.
Some listened for a few moments before continuing on. Others stayed. Adryn watched as the music washed over people — bringing calm, comfort, beauty, reflection, and connection into an environment often filled with anxiety and uncertainty.
While at Cedars-Sinai, conversations with neurosurgeons further deepened Adryn’s interest in the growing body of research surrounding music, the body, and the brain — not only the role music can play in healing and well-being, but the ways in which learning and playing the piano, even when begun later in life, can help stimulate and keep the mind active and sharp and support cognitive health as we age.
What began at Cedars-Sinai became a continuing mission.
For several years, Adryn has brought Music for Healing to retirement communities, memory-care centers, and other settings, using both performance and piano study to reach people at every stage of life.
MUSIC & THE BRAIN
Science continues to explore what musicians have understood intuitively for centuries: music has an extraordinary relationship with the human brain and body.
Listening to and making music engage multiple brain systems associated with memory, emotion, movement, attention, and cognition. Research has associated music interventions with reduced anxiety and pain in medical settings, while studies of active music-making and instrumental study in older adults have found promising benefits for aspects of cognitive function and psychological well-being.
The implications span a lifetime.
Music study provides children with an extraordinary combination of intellectual, physical, emotional, and creative engagement. And those benefits do not end with childhood. Piano study begun later in life can provide rich cognitive stimulation, helping to keep the mind active and sharp while fostering creativity, accomplishment, and continued learning.
THE MUSIC IN PRACTICE
At its heart, Music for Healing brings together performance, piano study, and musical education, creating experiences tailored to the people and environments they are intended to serve.
PERFORMANCE
Live classical piano has the ability to transform an environment. Music can soothe, stimulate, awaken memories, evoke emotion, and create connection — sometimes reaching people in ways that words cannot.
Whether in a hospital, memory-care center, retirement community, or private residence, the experience is not simply a performance. It is music brought directly to people where they are.
PIANO STUDY
Music for Healing is also about making music.
Adryn works with older adults individually and in groups, including those beginning piano study later in life. Playing the piano simultaneously engages listening, memory, attention, visual processing, fine motor coordination, timing, interpretation, and creativity.
Piano study offers something equally important: challenge, accomplishment, curiosity, creativity, and joy.
RETIREMENT & SENIOR COMMUNITIES
Live performance, individual and group piano study, and music-centered educational programs.
MEMORY-CARE SETTINGS

HOSPITALS & MEDICAL CENTERS
Live music offering moments of respite, beauty, and connection for patients, families, caregivers, physicians, surgeons, and staff.
PRIVATE RESIDENCES
Personalized performance and piano study for individuals and families, including those navigating aging, illness, recovery, or periods of significant stress.
