Bespoke Piano Study for All Ages

Private piano study should be rigorous, inspiring, and FUN!

My teaching is designed for students who want to develop a strong technical and musical foundation while learning to truly understand and express the music they play.

BEYOND THE NOTES

My approach encourages students to explore the composers, artists, historical context, and ideas behind the music, allowing them to approach each work with greater understanding and imagination.

Every student receives individualized instruction shaped around their abilities, interests, and aspirations—with the goal of developing not only accomplished pianists, but thoughtful and deeply engaged musicians.

Beginners
For students beginning their piano studies, I establish strong fundamentals from the very first lesson—proper technique, reading, rhythm, musicianship, and a thoughtful approach to practice. A solid foundation creates confidence and opens the door to a lifetime of meaningful musical study.

Advanced Students
For more advanced pianists, lessons focus on refining technique, deepening musical interpretation, expanding repertoire, and developing an individual artistic voice. I also work with students preparing for performances, auditions, competitions, and further musical study.

Adults
It is never too late to begin—or return to—the piano. Adult students may pursue serious classical study, return to music after many years, or simply want to develop their playing and deepen their appreciation of great music. Lessons are tailored to each student's interests, experience, and goals.

Seniors
Piano study can be a particularly rewarding pursuit later in life, providing an opportunity to continue learning, creating, and engaging the mind through music. Research has increasingly explored the cognitive benefits of sustained musical activity and the value of learning and playing an instrument throughout life. Whether returning to the piano or beginning something entirely new, students can enjoy the intellectual, creative, and personal rewards of musical study.
